Phase I SBIR award for dynamic terrain formats / News & Events
May 2, 2010
Dignitas Technologies has been awarded a Phase I SBIR entitled “Dynamic Formats in Distributed Simulation Systems”. With
this RDECOM-STTC contract, Dignitas Technologies and subcontractor CAE will investigate
techniques for leveraging run-time publishing and procedural geometry technologies in GOTS
Army applications, such as OneSAF. “There has been a substantial investment in technologies
that allow flexible distribution of terrain data or on-the-fly derivation of terrain geometry
from simple inputs.” said Mr. Jon Watkins, Dignitas’ founder and owner. “However, these
technologies cannot readily be applied to major Army applications like OneSAF which expect
terrain data to be pre-generated and pre-distributed. This SBIR will allow us to investigate
ways in which this gap can be bridged, thereby providing more opportunities for reuse and
interoperability.”
Dignitas Technologies, LLC (www.dignitastechnologies.com) was founded in 2004 to provide
high quality engineering services to the modeling, simulation, and training community. Based in
the Orlando, FL area, Dignitas Technologies supports a wide range of military training programs
across live, virtual, and constructive domains with a particular focus on computer generated
forces and terrain reasoning.
